What You NEED to Know Before Today’s Workout
Protein, protein, protein! That’s all most people hear about for a post-workout refuel. After a workout, you should definitely get some protein, but most of us are lacking the carbs we need.
You should be consuming 4 carbs to ever gram of protein after your workout. Ideally you do this within 30 minutes of finishing, but during the first 2 hours, replenishment is most rapid.
Why you ask?
Well, eating carbs stimulates insulin release,which then increases the amount of glucose taken up by your muscle cells from the bloodstream,and stimulates the action of the glycogen manufacturing enzymes.
