1. Endless cloudy Alley_2677473

In the 1904s , there was a new term named Straight photograph Which has become much popular style in the early 1930s , ‘it came to be known as The West Coast Photographic Movement”. Through the technique : ‘A series of seemingly banal and quotidian spaces that have some common abstract quality’ use different angle with light and shadow made a simple scene with stronger feeling . The photographer who reflects this technique through her work named Berenice Abbott . Throughout her career, her photography was ‘very much a display of the rise in development in technology and society’.

I used the little bit different angle to take these photos which are can bring an empty and endless feeling through it. Time is the major key to these pictures, I chose the morning, noon and afternoon, is the full photograph clearly shown a different time with the different angle of the sun can affect the look and feel of the one sense. The reason why I choose black and white was not just based on the way how Berenice Abbott did , the idea behind it is more about highlight the rolling cloud on the wall gives a stressed feeling at the first then go through with the rhythm angle on the sky to the endless alley and increasing the contrast between the dark and light .

The two major part of the photo is cloud and angles which are feels out of control but in the sky there are still have angle lead to the end of the stress just like the normal life . The reason why foucs on the alley but busy street is means dont just focus on the outside of the world sometime still need to go inside then you will know there is another world that you dont know .
