If you are reading this you might be probably a digital marketer or a business owner who just managed to have a website and stepped to the next level and have an online presence. But you don’t really know why you are unable to manage to get your website on the first page of search engine results(Google,Bing,Yahoo etc) which matters the most once you are online.

This is because you are unable to optimise your business website and understand your customer behavior. It is really important how your customer behaves with the search engine query . You will have maximum conversion when the customers looking for a product or service online finds your website is relevant to what they are looking for. And when you provide that relevance to your customers you will reasonably reduce your bounce rate and increase conversion rate of your website . Keeping all this things in mind let’s try to highlight some of the most important factors that effects your website on search engine page and ranking of your website. In order to get better results of your website on search result it is very important to take care of your website’s SEO( Search Engine Optimization).

Let’s list some of the major factors issues that effects your conversion rate with more bounce rate including SEO(Search Engine Optimization) issues:

1. Duplicate content:

Duplicate contents of your website will hurt your SEO resulting in lower ranking on search result page. Although there isn’t a specific penalty against duplicate content, the problem arises when your similar webpages
begin cannibalising each other for the same search positions and Google ends up filtering the wrong duplicated website instead of your original webpage. This is where the (rel=canonical) HTML attribute can help, by letting Google know exactly which duplicate page to rank.

2. Missing Alt tags and broken images:

The research reveals that about 30%-40% of the websites containing images does not have have HTML (alt tags) and about 5%-15% have broken images. Alt tags (e.g: < img src ="Tree.gif"
alt = "Tree"> )are technical way to describe your images to search engines to make sure they are indexed properly
in image search, and therefore bring some extra traffic to your site.Broken images can cause the same issues as broken links by providing a poor UX. In order to avoid such issues it is advised to envelop your images within your own media library and not using some other third party image host.

3. Title tag issues:

Example : < title >Example Title < /title >
Title tags are used to tell search engines and visitors what is your website about and it shows up on your browser. Hence improving your ranking by letting the Search engine what your website or web pages is about.

4. Meta descriptions:

One should always use meta description within the HTML head tags in order to describe about the content that appears under the URL of website on the search result page. When a costumer search anything on internet they always read the meta description .If they find the description is relevant to what they are searching for then they will access their website to get their job done and that will bring more traffics on your website which will increase the conversion rate turning to end costumers.

5.Links to unauthorized pages & spam:

Adding links to unauthorized and spam pages leads to decrease the relevance for the searchers. Google penalize this type website resulting in to lower ranking . Hence your website won’t stand out on the search result.

6. Format and design layout issues:

Adding unnecessary white space, images, bulk media size, hidden text etc can harm your website optimization . Hence, it is always wise to use HTML and CSS for designing your website and use JavaScript only when required. Also remove unnecessary images and add readable text with correct spelling of particular language .The Visibility,UX and UI of the website should be easy to navigate and access.

7. H1 tag issues:

One fails to figure out the difference between the HTML Title tags and H1 tags. Title tags are used to tell search engines and visitors what is your website about and it shows up on your browser .Where as H1 tag is used for mentioning a heading of your website on your web page .Hence it is recommended using H1 tag only once per page.

8.Not being mobile friendly:

Most of your customers are searching for product or service using their mobile device rather than computers. Google launched a mobile algorithm to reward sites optimized for smartphones and tablets. Pages that aren’t optimized for mobile viewing may not show up at the top of mobile results because they are hard for searchers to navigate and use.Hence, one should use responsive web design which allows your customers to find u online on both computers and smartphones.

9.Non-Relevant keywords:

Figuring out the right keyword for specific business is nothing more than an art of understanding the customer’s search behaviour on internet. Hence, it is recommended using long tail keywords rather than fat head and chunky middle keywords . By assigning relevant keywords for your business website can result you in higher ranking and turn more traffics and increase conversion.

10.Too much ads on the webpage:

A website with too much ads degrading the website quality.

Adding too much ads on your pages from third party product or company can saturate your web page with un desirable content which degrades the quality of the website. The visitor of your website might get distracted by other ads and hence increase bounce rate and affects your conversion rate. Its important to maintain the quality of page rather than quantity based filled with full of fancy ads.

11.Non-relavant content and over optimization:

In order to get higher traffic one should create a website for their costumer but for the sake of getting higher SEO ranking. And over using single words on a page or putting non-relevant context which is not related to the business may increase the rate of higher bounce rate and zero conversion. Over optimizing the website can be considered as spam by the Google’s search engine algorithm hence removing your website from search result. For example: Adding so many links on a webpage of same website using the HTML tags i.e <a href= "http//www.Tree.com/Home">example</a>.To avoid such SEO and quality issue one should always update relevant contents only regarding that specific type business.

Are things getting more complicated managing a business website?Don’t worry, all you need to do is to take care of all the above issues and stay updated with time as SEO and Customer behaviour changes with time.
