Today, we’re thrilled to announce the launch of the public beta of Pantos, a carefully engineered multi-blockchain solution! After years of research and development, we’re excited to showcase the seamless transfer of digital assets across multiple blockchains. The public beta is now live on multiple testnets, including Ethereum, BNB Chain, Avalanche, Polygon, Cronos, Celo, and Fantom. This launch marks a crucial step in our journey towards creating the future of interoperability.
Initiated in 2018 by the Bitpanda team together with the TU Wien, Pantos was initially conceived as a research and development project. Since then we have reached numerous milestones. We have built one of the world’s strongest blockchain interoperability research teams and published dozens of academic papers.
The public beta is a significant step in the Pantos project development. This beta test already makes it possible to test many important functions that Pantos will offer. So let’s look at what the Public Beta offers and why it’s such an essential phase in our development process.
A public beta is a way to get feedback on the product before it’s released. During the beta, users can try the product to give us an idea of what’s working well and what needs improvement. This is a crucial step in the development process and helps ensure that the end product meets requirements. Feedback received during the public beta will be considered and used to make necessary changes before the product is officially released. By participating in the public beta, you can help shape the future of the product and make it the best it can be.
During the public beta of Pantos, you can test the cross-chain transfer functionality of Pantos, which has been uniquely designed based on years of research to provide the most seamless multichain experience. Pantos additionally supports wrapping existing coins into multichain assets, making them truly interoperable.
Token Transfer
One of the main features and goals of the Pantos project is to simplify the transfer of assets between different blockchains. In our new web application, we have integrated a quick and easy process that makes it uncomplicated and safe for beginners to send their tokens to another blockchain.
Multichain Wrapping
Existing coins and tokens often cannot be modified to support native interoperability. However, you can wrap supported coins and soon any tokens with our wrapping tool and turn them into true multichain assets. Pantos multichain wrapping is highly optimised to be as secure as possible. Users can easily unwrap their token anytime and get the original asset back.
Manage Tokens
Having to add new tokens to a wallet manually can be tedious. Pantos Multichain Tokens can be easily imported into your wallet with just one click. The new section offers you an overview of the supported chains of the various multichain assets including the associated smart contracts.
The way forward for Pantos
In the coming months, we plan to further improve the app and integrate more functions and new blockchains. We recently updated our roadmap and published a clear overview of the next big milestones. Two of the most important upcoming updates are the Multichain Token Creator and the release of the code to prepare for the decentralisation of Pantos.
Token Creator Tool
Our Token Creator tool will be available in Q2 2023, offering anyone an easy way to create and deploy multichain assets without any technical skills. This will make it easier for companies and individuals to create digital assets and participate in the multichain ecosystem. Stay tuned, we look forward to sharing more details with you soon!
Decentralised Service Nodes
First step towards decentralising the Pantos network will be the introduction of service nodes. By introducing service nodes, we will build a network that can handle Pantos transfer requests in a decentralised manner. This will help make the network more resilient and secure and provide a solid foundation for further decentralisation in the future.
