The murder of two teenage girls has rocked the small town of Delphi, Indiana. Search crews found their bodies on Tuesday, Feb. 14th after they were reported missing the day before. The two girls were hiking around Monon High Bridge after being dropped off by their parents. Their bodies were found nearly a mile from the bridge near Deer Creek in Delphi.

The first clue police had to work with was this image posted to Liberty German’s Snapchat account on Monday they 13th around 2 p.m.. The eerie photo of a man walking along the path by the two girls was (at that time) the last sign of life from the two girls before their bodies were found.

In a shocking new development, state police and the FBI have released what is described as an audio recording of the voice of the unidentified man who killed the two girls. In a press conference, Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas Carter held back tears as he described how this case has impacted those investigating the murders. They then played a recording found on the phone of 14-year-old Liberty German. In the recording, a male voice can be heard saying “Down the hill.” Police say the girl recorded the suspect’s voice on her phones video recorder shortly before her and her friend Abigail Williams were murdered.

Police have described Liberty German’s presence-of-mind to capture her killer’s voice just moments before her and her friend’s murder as a true act of heroism. Indiana State Police Captain Dave Bursten pleaded with the public to listen to the audio and to contact them if they recognize the voice of the man in the recording. Over 25 FBI agents have joined police in Indiana to find the man responsible for these murders. The reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect has now reached $41,000.

Gregory Massa, an FBI assistant special agent who is in charge of the case said during the press conference, “We’re not going anywhere. — we will be here until this case is solved, and I am confident this case will be solved.” The public can provide information on this case by calling 844–459–5786.
