21 Day Prayer Challenge — Day 13
January 13, 2017
The purpose of this opportunity is to motivate you to return to prayer and to challenge you to pray boldly and consistently for God to prepare you for the next Divine movement in your life. As you embark on this journey, I pray that God would open your heart so that prayer becomes an essential part of your life. I truly believe that in 21 days your life and the lives of those you love will be changed!
Begin the challenge each day by doing the following:
1. Pray for understanding
2. Read the scripture verse
3. Read daily challenge
4. Apply the challenge to your life!
Cleanliness is Next to Godliness — Psalms 51:10 — There are certain substances you don’t want near your clothes. Oils can leave a stain that can cause you to throw away the garment. Aren’t you glad God doesn’t throw us away? That’s because He can take away the stains. Pray that God creates a new heart, thus doing away with your stains.

New Creature — 2 Corinthians 5:17 — With new beginnings, it does not matter where you are in life — young, middle age, or old — its just a beginning. As you start this New Year, choose Christ. In choosing to be in Christ, you become a new creation. You leave behind the old, stale, rotten, negative, and unwanted. In Christ you are a new creature, and all things are also new! Want a new start? Pray your claim of Christ, and you will be new!
Not Built for Fear — 2 Timothy 1:7 — On this journey, New Year’s resolutions can raise anxiety as to whether we will succeed or fail. We fear failure. We fear rejection. We fear defeat. But our Creator did not ordain fear! God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and security! Pray that you allow God’s Word and His Holy Spirit to ignite the power, love, and security God has in store for you!
Teachable Spirit — Psalms 143:10 — So often we feel we know it all. But there is one thing we don’t know, and it is the Will of God! It is only when we are in the will of God that we are living the life God wants for us. Pray for the willingness to be a student of Jesus Christ.
All My Needs — Philippians 4:19 — There are times we come up short. We may have thought we had enough to make it, meet it, or solve it, but we were short. God has promised to supply all of our needs. As our Creator, He knows just what our life needs, and He will supply it according to His generosity! Thank God for His continued delivery of your needs.
Finish Strong — Hebrews 12:1 — It’s easy to start projects, goals, and tasks. However, finishing is hard. Whether it’s finishing the tough conversation with our spouse, sibling, or child, finishing a project, or achieving a goal, we can finish strong. Pray for the endurance to “finish strong” the race set before you.
Proof or Poof! — Malachi 3:10 — We live in a time when we believe only what we see. We also serve a God that says, “Prove Me.” In order to do that, we need to put words into action. God knows how to put words into action. Pray to be obedient enough to prove Him.
Well Done — Matthew 5:21 — Awesome! Job well done! We feel good when we receive positive reinforcement. Faithfulness takes all our strength and perseverance to maintain. God promises the ultimate positive reinforcement when He comes. Pray that you hear the words, “Well Done”!
Let Go My EGO! — Matthew 23:11–12 — At times we are our own worst enemy. Our ego can trip us up. If the truth be told, our ego can cause us to make the wrong choice. God asks us to check our EGO. Why not check your EGO today! Who’s getting glory? Are you Edging God Out or Exalting God Only? Pray that God helps to ‘Let Go My EGO!’
Deepen the Impression! — Jeremiah 33:3 — Things aren’t going the way you want it, and you are struggling to figure out what’s next. God has already proven who He is in your life. However, it’s easy to forget. As you pray repeat the phrase, “I know God to be __________.” seven (7) times today with different examples.
Know Him Better — Psalms 46:10 — To learn about something, one needs to spend time with it. God wants us to know more about Him, but our busy lifestyles bar us from getting to know Him better. So God asks us to be still. Pray for an increased desire to be still and to crave out more time with Him.
He Cares — 1 Peter 5:7 — You always have a special feeling when you know someone cares about you and what is happening to you. A soothing sense of not feeling lonely or abandoned warms your heart when you know someone cares. You have someone who cares about you and wants you to tell Him anything and everything that bothers you. As you pray today, tell Him ALL your cares.
He Gave Them to You! — John 17:9 — You are blessed to have family and friends who care for you. You ought to cherish the ones God has placed in your life. Just as Jesus prayed for you (the one who God the Father gave Him), you ought to pray for those God gave to you. Pray through a list of your family and friends.
