Why is it that the people that are supposed to be loving and caring are always the most vicious and hateful? To be blunt, I specifically mean Christians (or other religious folk who claim to love but obviously hate). These people claim to be loving and forgiving, and yet when their ideas are confronted they attack like a cornered animal.

Recently I watched a video of an “extremist Christian” having what appeared to be a mental breakdown after the SCOTUS ruling on same-sex marriage. She was spewing vile while claiming to be a child of God, a supposed all-loving being. At one point she said that people had told her to “get with the times” and she replied that “God doesn’t change”. After raving for a couple of minutes about how marriage is clearly one man one woman as defined by God (where?) she asked if we were reading different Bibles. I have come to the conclusion that we must be. After all, there’s no way I could read the book and get the message of loving thy neighbor equally and letting God judge them because no one is perfect (“He who is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone…”) while this woman read it and somehow got a message of hatred.

Obviously we are reading different books.
