Hi, Rachel. Thanks for that. Punctuation is to poets what ball-handling skills are to NBA point guards. Tools of art. It means a lot knowing the time it’s taken me to work up syntactical chops shows though in the pieces themselves. Thanks for letting me know.

And I’m glad the piece resonated. I got to thinking before I sent this off to Jason and Renee at Literati: if I can effectively dramatize the problem in a way that gets other writers considering their own life / writing balancing acts, I think I’ve done my job. As far as this poem is concerned, anyway.
