One man’s ignorance is another’s wisdom.

While the world leaders neglect the real threat of climate change and global warming, tech giants and startups have joined a collusion to take matters in their own hands. The decision of pulling out USA from the legendary Paris Agreement, has created a major upset by introducing weird policies for the American people, world businesses, professionals, and economy.

It was a quite shocking and unexpected response for the other countries and American public too. The decision is criticized by the parliament adversaries of President Donald Trump as well as the fortune 500 companies including leading tech giants.

As the government is backing out from its duty, businesses are planning to take the initiative for the betterment of climate. They are trying to address the burning environmental issues like global warming, increasing the level of sea water, a growing amount of CO2 and carbon waste, etc. across the globe.

Especially, premier tech companies pledged to improve the climate conditions by developing the next-generation tools, software, and applications using the ultra-modern technologies. Let’s have a quick look how technologies are helping out in environment upbringing.

GPS Technology

Mapping technology enables users with a wealth of information for personal and commercial use. It helps individuals in planning out the journey from one location to another by tracking the places with the support of satellite. It provides unparalleled information to the meteorological departments related to the wind, ocean temperature, climate change, irregular activities in the beneath of the earth, etc. This information is very useful to the government and private companies to mitigate environmental footprints.

Mobile Technology

Mobility is the leading trend of this era. Smartphones have made our life easier than ever before. It connects the people and facilitates them with all the essential information within the least time duration. Development of intuitive mobile apps that holds powerful integration with other technologies like IoT enables the government, industries, and organizations to monitor and reduce their carbon waste and footprints.

For example; manufacturing companies can set the sensors around their production plants that collect the data about the carbon footprint. The smart mobile apps will fetch the data, analyze them, and suggest the best practices in order to reduce carbon waste. Moreover, modern mobile processors are more energy efficient that contains highly advanced features to lessen the burden on electrical grids.

Big Data

Big Data contains a massive amount of data that can be scrutinized to understand the consequences of climate change. It helps in creating awareness about the upcoming crisis that can occur due to an imbalance of original content in nature. Big data involves the information related to natural calamities or man-made means.

Based on the past data, it is a bit easy to predict the future environmental snags such as carbon footprint, lower greenhouse emission, and so on. It enables government and organizations to tackle the critical natural situations smartly and effectively.

Internet of Things (IoT)

IoT technology is connecting the things through the high-tech sensors. The IoT devices work like apps and save carbon footprint and energy. The technology can perform many tasks by collaborating with other systems.

To analyze your energy usage, you can use smart devices that learn your usage pattern and automatically adjust to save energy. Unlike energy, IoT technology helps in water saving as well. Integrate the device into your water sprinkler system, and you can check out the water usage in your web and mobile applications.

Open Source Movement

Open data and open source technologies are the best while it comes to accelerate environmental inventions and research. The popular example of open source movement is Tesla Motors. The company released its patents for public use. It helps the tech fanatics to consider the already available innovations as the base and move ahead for further hi-end inventions.

If the companies belong from versatile industry domains reveal their essential data and efforts on open source platforms, then it will be really helpful to the others in inventing the most effective ways and smart ideas to control or reduce the carbon footprint.

Autonomous Cars

It’s a booming technology across all the developed countries. Self-driving cars reduce pollution, fuel waste, and traffic as well as optimize driving patterns. Not just that, autonomous cars diminish greenhouse gas emissions and fuel usage. Thus, adoption of self-driving cars directly affects our environment by saving our energy resources like fuel and plummeting the pollution in the air.

Geoengineering

The term is also famous as climate engineering of climate modification. Geoengineering is based on two approaches: Carbon Dioxide Reduction (CDR) and Solar Radiation Management (SRM). In order to decrease the level of Carbon Dioxide, we can plant trees, adopt algae farming, track emissions from power stations, fertilize the oceans, etc.

Solar Radiation Management is all about to reduce the amount of solar energy reaching the earth. Under this approach, government and private companies try to develop the solutions that maintain the temperature around the globe. Technologies deliver the exclusive analysis of the efforts invested in both the approaches. Private and public sectors can identify the best practices and follow them to reduce the level of CO2 and intensity of solar energy.

These are a few leading technologies that affect the world environment soundly by controlling the proportion of harmful chemicals in the air, land, water, and nutrition. Use of technologies tremendously improves the people’s life by saving several natural resources. The list of environment-friendly technologies will be longer in the upcoming time as all tech giants are collaborating with the other industries and governments to work out the best solutions for humanity.
