Patrick Mooney from Osmosoft, a team of designers, developers and UX consultants who work at BT, gave this talk at Dublin UX in February 2016 about working remotely, focussing on the agile and lean processes they follow. Patrick demonstrated how the web has removed the need for UX teams to be co-located and still thrive in areas like collaborative design thinking, prototyping and user testing and research. The talk aimed to give as much practical advice, including tips and tricks of the software used on a daily bases.

This talk was given by Patrick Mooney and David Lindley at BT Dev Con 2015 in Belfast on June 11th 2015. Given to an audience of developers, it focused on how products can fail due to lack of user engagement, what UX is and how everyone is responsible for it. Tips are given on how best engage with users and how to prototype to avoid a #UXFail.

I first learned of Lean UX when I attended Lean Day London in 2014, learning first hand from Geoff Gothelf the principles of Lean UX. The venue was an old church in Shoreditch, I personally left converted. In this talk given internally to BT, I introduce Lean UX and show how could be used to improve our product design process.

Video: Using Agile UX to change the customer experience for BT In 2014 I had the pleasure to design the mobile solution for the BT Global Services website. Their new TeamSite driven desktop solution went live a year before, whilst being tablet friendly it wasn’t mobile optimised. In addition to defining the backend solution, I along with my colleagues from osmosoft/BT and Karmarama designed the new mobile solution, using a blended Agile UX approach.
