YOU are. You and every person who celebrates the sensation that is autumn and the magnificent macabre that is Halloween.

What is The October Children?

The October Children is a seasonal audio show that releases every October. There are creepy stories, spooky poetry, and eerie music to celebrate autumn, October, and the scariest holiday of all! 2023 will be the third season that the monsters and their victims will gather ‘round the bonfire!

Do you want to help celebrate?

If you are a writer, visual artist, musician, or voice performer and would like to add your particular conjuration to the bonfire, please email me your ideas at TheOctoberChildren@gmail.com. Pre-production for 2023 begins today, and I will be taking submissions until the end of August.

Writing: Flash fiction (up to 2,000 words), Poetry, or non-fiction (spooky encounters, favorite Halloween memory, etc).

Music: An original eerie song? A creepy instrumental?

Visual Art: A slimy painting? A spine-tingling illustration?

Voice Performer: Do you want to give a voice to the dead? Send me a sample!

NOTE: Although frights are the point, try to make your submission all-ages friendly, or at least young adult. Think: Scare, but not disturb. Check out previous seasons if you need a reference!

If your submission is chosen: I am not asking for rights or exclusivity, as this is a hobby of mine and not an official publication under an official entity. Your work is yours, and I am only adapting it for the fun of collaborating with artists to celebrate an inspirational time of year. Please ensure that you have/retain the writes of the piece(s) you are submitting.
