Feeling Anxious? Try This…
As you guys know I like to specialize in inner game.
Because you can’t carry the weight of the world on your shoulders if you’re slipping on ice beneath.
You need a solid ground to stand on…
Otherwise you’re just not moving forward.
To give credit where credit is due, This mind ‘hack’ comes from a client of mine, but I had to share it because it’s epic!
Whenever confronted with a high stress, anxiety inducing situation, think of this:
“F@ck it. Let’s Hollywood this sh*t”
It’s such a simple yet profoundly powerful statement…
Because the mindset it taps into is one of fun, adventure, excitement, and openness…
Instead of one of fear, anxiety, judgment and closure.
When you decide to “Hollywood” your life, you are entering into a consensual relationship with the universe.
You are basically saying “this anxiety thing is just not working for me. So let’s see what kind of mischief and adventure I can get myself into. Let’s see what happens when I let go of the steering wheel…”
And in that space of complete surrender is when beautiful things happen.
Because spending your life trying to control everything, and swimming against the current of life is just… well… exhausting!
Here’s the great secret though: There’s no growth in certainty, ever!
Growth only comes in that wide open, ‘anything could happen’ space that you give it…
And in that space is where you will find breath-taking growth.
So next time you find yourself retesting inward and feel anxiety setting in, be mindful of it, take a deep breath, shrug your shoulders and see how you can “Hollywood this sh*t”.
See what kind of crazy adventures you could get up to…
“In the end, you will be more regretful of what you didn’t do than by what you did do” — Mark Twain
Go ahead and Hollywood this sh*t and stop pressuring yourself so much. This whole life and love thing is meant to be fun!
