We build dashboards (data products) internally using Tableau and have pivoted the Lean Startup’s Three A’s to help identify a data product’s purpose and impact:

Accessible - Can the people it’s designed for use it easily?

Actionable - Will there be a clear action for the user to take from the data displayed?

Auditable - Can we measure the product’s impact on the business through growth in revenue/relationships/resource?

Grading ideas through this process has been super-useful for us in identifying the winning projects from the ‘time-sinkers’.
