I’m sorry to hear that and I sympathize greatly with you. Both of my parents are (or in the case of my mother, were) civil servants, and the government — whether at the federal, city or state level — could certainly do better with the way it treats its employees. Just my point of view on things, but it seems they dangle retirement packages and benefits over your head, like a carrot, but by the time you get there, you are a broken down shell of yourself.

The postal service, in particular, seems to be in bad shape these days. Considering how efficient it actually is, that’s a very sad thing.
