Why I Don’t Engage With the Comments
Zak Slayback

To each his own. You have your thoughts and I have mine. I make every effort to engage with anyone who takes the trouble and time to comment on any post I write. Whether they agree or disagree is irrelevant.

I started using this platform because I was not getting notifications of comments on LinkedIn. I’m still working on my Medium-legs, but I try to respond to every comment, share, or mention.

To me, the purpose of any post is to engage with the reader. Maybe it’s the Canadian in me showing, but it’s the polite thing to do.

There are an estimated 4,500,000 posts every day. The commenter has pulled yours out from the muck. He/she has opened a discussion with you. More accurately, they have responded to a discussion you started. Ignoring them is either rudeness or fear.

So which is it?

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
