Everything Can Have Value (Video)

This is a copy of the speech I gave at the District 91 Toastmasters International Speech contest. It was an amazing event and day full of public speaking workshops, competitions, and more. The main event was the International Speech contest. It was the district finals and the winner would go to Las Vegas to compete against other district winners from around the world. I was lucky enough to share the stage with many fascinating people, accomplished speakers, and professionals.

The prompt the speakers were given was a speech on motivation. I was told I could speak on whatever I liked so it was a pretty big coincidence that mine fell in to a similar category. I gave my speech in the intermission when the votes for the final were being counted. I based the message behind my speech on something I was told over a christmas break, where I was working at the time, it was that every experience good or bad is worth having. There’s always something to be learnt, to be gained. In the speech I talk about a downward spiral I was facing and how I had just started climbing out of it.
