Deep linking. Yet another infrastructure we have to wrest away from marketers before they screw it all up. This is really on the OS makers to resolve. So far their approach to deep linking has been parochial and weak. They are all providing limited abilities to let apps talk to each other, leaving a large space that allows these other companies to sell deep linking to app developers. While disintermediation is an important internet theme, this is a case of new intermediation and both app developers and users will have to pay the toll unless the OS makers step in and do something about it.
