Are We Approaching Peak Nihilism In The West?

I don’t know when it began exactly, but it seems a lot of us in the West have been dissociating from reality since at least the 1960s. What are we trying to escape from?

I think nature creates hierarchies of power and this means structural inequality. It’s offensive to people on the political Left that inequality could be natural and justified by a hierarchy of competence. No society has a genuine meritocracy but if such a thing could exist then a hierarchy of competence would result. Any good economic system needs organisation and specialism with workers, managers and directors, and a labour market will develop to reward people in accordance with the scarcity of their skills. Income inequality is the result of persuading people to do the work they are most suitable for.

If persistent inequality is natural then how would the ruling class deal with the resentment of those who find themselves at the bottom of the hierarchy? One answer is dissociation. Get people to dissociate from their natural condition. Distract them. Undermine their class consciousness and thus maintain the hierarchy of power.

Two of the main groups of people who are subject to structural inequality are women and the working class. What would be a strategy to undermine their class consciousness? How about transgenderism and racial identity politics? If a man can self identify as a woman then women lose the language to describe themselves as a political class that is subject to structural inequality. If working class people are divided into a hierarchy of race “privilege” they lose the solidarity that would allow them to organise against the ruling class.

It’s easy to discover who is funding racial identity politics and the transgender movement. Neoliberal billionaire George Soros is one major donor to both causes.

This postmodern intersectional Left that relies on the patronage of billionaires is a fake Left that serves the ruling class.

I think a lot of people are red pilled about this fake Left and will reject the dissociation it promotes. People want to be rooted in reality. They want real solutions. We’re reaching peak nihilism, peak political correctness and peak dissociation.
