Departure

I couldn’t sleep last night. Whether it was due to a last minute visit with some friends, or just the excitement, whos to say? What I can say is that 3:30 in the morning is too early no matter how much sleep you get. The drive to the airport was almost sureal as the lightning was contant throughout the sky. My mother is persistent in saying that the sky is seeing me off, but I’d to think that it was challenging me. Today I’ll only be flying for a few hours, which is a mere taste of the thirty three hours of flying I have to do next week on my long flight to Bangkok. Baby steps right? When I got to the airport I said goodbye to my mother, all while questioning me to make sure I had everything I needed. It was a good departure, I said goodbye to many friends throughout the week, but its different saying goodbye to your mother. Way more tears, and a few less jokes. With all my goodbyes said, I stepped into the airport to begin my journey.
