Here’s the issue that I see with this ruling. While Facebook, LinkedIn and other sites respect the privacy preferences set by users (whether they’re widely understood or not is irrelevant for this point), companies that scape user profiles are under not obligation to adhere to the same privacy preferences. That in itself is a serious issue.
