Thank you brain.
I don’t know about you but I beat up my brain ALOT.
I tell him how stupid he is (I’m female but to me my brain is male…there’s probably something to that but I digress).
I beat up my brain up and tell him to do things better. To be more creative. To not get so distracted.
I’m always barking orders at him. “Focus!” “Come on, get up!” “Why aren’t you paying attention?”
This morning, as I began my usual routine of pushing and pulling at him — I looked at what he does in awe.
He mans this whole ship of a body. He makes sure I remember things. He reminds me what words are, how they function and how to write. He ingests so much beautiful content from books. He learns so willingly. He gives me ideas and ways to execute those ideas. He allows himself to step out of the way when its my heart’s turn to speak up. He lets me run wild with creativity.
He is my ally. Yet I forget.
I forget to thank him for all that he does, for existing, and helping my body function.
Today, I ask you to join me in thanking your brain — in all it’s glory for all that he/she does for you.
