Hi! I’m a clinical research coordinator at Mass General Hospital who discovered UX and decided to make the career jump about a year ago. I’ve been mostly learning about the field through articles, books (i.e. Rocket Surgery Made Easy and Elements of User Experience) and a few courses on UX and web/app development. I’ve applied to 2 masters in HCI programs and am currently looking into summer internships. My big career goal is to become a full time UX designer at a small to medium sized design company to have some experience working on different projects. Coming from a healthcare background, I’m thinking of working on the UX of healthcare applications such as scheduling systems down the line. I think having a mentor would be great, since UX has seemed like a tough industry to break into and any words of wisdom would be helpful!
