Overview of Season 2: The Mystic Pen Warriors
Given the success of Season 1 of our Explore Scroll Campaign so far, Penpad is becoming recognized as one of the most successful fair launches on Scroll! We’re keeping this party going now with Season 2:
The Mystic Pen Warriors, scheduled to start on March 25 at 05:00 AM (UTC).
In season 2 — like season 1 — we’re distributing $DAPP tokens to loyal community members active in Penpad’s launch. $DAPP is PenPad’s native token and will give holders governance rights and other privileges.
This season, though, we’re giving away 6% of the total token supply, or 6 million $DAPP tokens, with the equivalent to 401 ETH (Only keep integers). $DAPP tokens will be distributed based on a sliding scale, where the more you participate, the more tokens you’ll be able to get — at increasingly favorable prices!
$DAPP will be distributed to warriors proportional to their efforts as compared to other participants. To earn more Penpad Points and get a more favorable entry point to $DAPPs, you can invite more friends to your warrior and stake more ETH. Not only will you get more $DAPP for less, by participating in the launch campaign seasons, you’ll get airdrops from top projects as they launch on Scroll!
Many of you won’t be going into battle empty-handed. Users who successfully complete quests in Season 1 will have their accumulated points on the Quests platform transferred to the Penpad platform’s points system within 10 days after the end of Season 1. For your points to transfer correctly, make sure to register a PenPad account on our platform before the campaign ends.
For those who missed Season 1, there is still an opportunity to earn additional points by participating in the official Season 2 Quests. These quest system points will be equivalently credited to the Penpad platform after the end of Season 2. Please note that if the same wallet address participates in the Quests events multiple times, points will only be credited once. (The link for Season 2 Quests will be announced on March 25th.)
Remember, the more points you get, the higher your rank will be, and the more rewards you’ll earn! And the $DAPP airdrop is just the beginning of rewards for Penpad warriors. Users who stake $DAPP will have a chance to get airdrops from projects as they deploy on Scroll. You won’t just be early to PenPad — you’ll be early to one of the top L2s on Ethereum.
Calculating Your $DAPP Rewards
Users can accumulate more points by staking ETH, inviting friends, and joining warrior guilds with new wallet addresses. For fairness, though, remember that you are limited to one address per warrior guild and each address can only create one warrior guild.
The more active you are in the campaign, the more $DAPP you’ll get while enjoying lower $DAPP prices at the same time. The points you earn will determine what tier of rewards you’ll enjoy. This table provides a clear reference to understand the rewards at each tier.
Here’s how it works: look at the top tier, composed of the top 6.67% of warriors based on points. Assume the total points amassed by all warriors amount to 10,000, with the top 6.67% tier accumulating 670 of these points. The allocation of $DAPP tokens to each user within this elite tier is proportionate to their share of all points in the campaign. If we have three users with points totaling 250, 220, and 200, respectively, their allocation is determined by the ratio of their points to the total 670 Points in their tier. This number is multiplied by the total ETH designated for this tier, referred to as “Y” in the following example equations, to determine the actual reward amount:
Allocation amount for user 1 = (250 / 670) * Y
Allocation amount for user 2 = (220 / 670) * Y
Allocation amount for user 3 = (200 / 670) * Y
This method ensures that rewards reflect each user’s contribution. A user contributing more significantly within their tier, thus holding a larger fraction of the tier’s total points, will receive a greater share of the allocated $DAPP tokens. This tier-based approach exemplifies how dedication and activity within the campaign are quantitatively rewarded, offering a clear, merit-based path to token allocation.
Rewards will be calculated automatically at the close of season 2. After the $DAPP is calculated and distributed, any excess ETH will be available for collection for those who originally staked it after seven days.
How to Get Started
To get started, deposit at least 0.05 ETH into Penpad’s launch pool. This will automatically give you 100 points, earning 20 additional points for each additional 0.05 ETH deposited, and raising your rank on the leaderboard.
PenPad Warriors who deposit more than 0.5 ETH will receive an exclusive referral code which they can use to build their warrior guild. Anyone who uses that code and deposits at least 0.05 ETH will automatically be part of the guild, and the inviter will receive 10% of the points earned by the invitee for the lifetime of the campaign!
As the guild gains more points and power, they’ll receive extra boosts in points. Every time the total ETH staked by a guild increases by 1 ETH, ALL warriors in the guild will be given a chance to win a special boost in points through a random drawing.
Remember: to ensure the independence of the teams and fairness of the competition, each user can only take on one role, either as a team leader or a team member, and can only create or join one team.
There are other ways to earn boosted rewards, however. Warriors will also get a boost in their staking rewards for staking in the first seven days that staking is live. Here is the bonus breakdown for those days:
For example, user A stakes 0.05ETH on the first day and receives 100 Points. Their points would continuously increase over the next seven days, calculated as follows 100 * 115% * 113% * 111% * 109% * 107% * 105% * 103% = 181.94.
But, let’s say that user B, staking the same amount, 0.05ETH, on the second day. Day 2 starts with a bonus rate of 113% and ends with 103% on the seventh day. The final points, after 6 days, would be calculated as: 100 * 113% * 111% * 109% * 107% * 105% * 103% = 158.21.
Relationship between Stake Amount and Allocation Volume
The total amount of ETH staked significantly influences the final allocation of $DAPP tokens to warriors: if the total staked amount meets or surpasses the campaign goal of 401 ETH (Only keep integers), tokens will be allocated as outlined in the chart above. However, if the amount of ETH staked in Season 2 falls short of this target, the final allocation will be proportionately reduced based on the actual amount staked relative to the goal.
This means everyone still receives $DAPP tokens, but the amounts are scaled back in line with the shortfall, ensuring a fair distribution based on the actual total staked.
Stake ETH Early for a more Favorable Ranking
It’s important to stake your ETH before the campaign wraps up. If your ETH stake is insufficient to cover the $DAPP allocation obtained, your share of $DAPP tokens will be recalculated and potentially passed to the next eligible participant based on their campaign involvement and total points.
In the event of a tie between two warriors in the points to their name, we will always prioritize fairness and reward users according to their contributions. Thus, if two participants have staked the same amount of ETH without bonus points from referrals, the time of their stake determines their rank, with the one who staked for longer being the winner. However, if a tie involves referral bonuses, the rank is influenced by the total ETH contributed by invited by the guild. Essentially, the more your network contributes, the better your position.
