Reseeding

Ah, childhood in the summer…

There is nothing quite like reseeding grass. Pulling off seeds from tall blades of grass and spreading them in the wind. This epitomizes childhood summers for me. The pleasure of feeling the softness of the small seeds in my hand and the power to make future grass grow.

How cyclical.

Seeds to blades to seeds…

Childhood to adulthood to childhood…

One summer afternoon, my son and I spent time pulling off seeds from tall blades of grass and spreading them in the wind. It was joyful and calming.

As an adult with children of my own, I get to reseed all over again.
