As a UX designer, I would say the Clap suffers from a lack of clarity around its purpose. From Reddit to Facebook, the concept of a like or upvote is very clear, as are the ancillary effects like content curation and overall popularity. Worse, the vague and threatening clap button sits right where most people naturally scroll with their finger, like having a rock in your shoe on a long hike.
