I think that if you do a fully independent A/B test on Netflix’ layout, the words that would be on everybody’s lips are “Why can’t they just put ‘My List’ as a default?”

Well, that would be great! But it’s not commercially interesting enough for Netflix. So I think what they actually test on is “how far can we go, pushing our own shows in their faces until they become really frustrated?”
