Petuum Named AI Innovator of the Year by the Pittsburgh Technology Council

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is well-known as a regional hub of talent and innovation. As one of the city’s leading technology companies — according to the Pittsburgh Business Times, Petuum received 30.5% of the total venture capital investments in Pittsburgh companies in 2017 — we are proud to contribute to Pittsburgh’s national technical reputation. And we are happy to share the news that the Pittsburgh Technology Council has recognized Petuum as one of Pittsburgh’s top companies making an impact by naming us the Innovator of the Year for AI/Robotics in the 2018 Tech 50 awards.

Petuum Head of Engineering Sean Chen accepts the Innovator of the Year award.

This is the 22nd year of the Tech 50 awards, which celebrate the most successful and exciting technology companies in Pittsburgh in order to showcase the innovation happening in the area and appreciate the hard work of the tech community. We couldn’t be more grateful to be acknowledged by our hometown in this way.

With our unique approach to AI, we hope to enable widespread adoption of AI solutions across industries. There are countless potential applications for the technology once it is made accessible and scalable, which is why we have drawn on Pittsburgh’s prowess in this area of research to help create our platform of standardized AI building blocks.

By industrializing AI, we aim to empower everyone to build and customize their own AI solutions for healthcare, manufacturing, and everything in between.
