Innovating on the blockchain: how our Planet Sales are unique
Phantom Galaxies allows players to own a piece of the in-game universe, on a planetary scale. Players can purchase, own and trade in Planets, each of which will have its own unique coordinates and traits. These will be accessed through our official website, where players will be able to make their purchases free of any KYC verification process. But the unprecedented opportunities of these Planets go deeper still — these unique NFT tokens are unlike anything you are used to seeing on the blockchain, innovating in a number of key areas.
A Fair Marketplace
A key goal of the Planet Sale design is to side-step a number of issues which commonly affect blockchain, most notably the manipulation of token value. A conventional way for crypto projects to distribute tokens is via an Initial Index Offering, or IDO — placing assets on a decentralised exchange where users can lock in funds to acquire them at the time of a token generation event. The approach of Phantom Galaxies is different, tying Astrafer Tokens to Planet NFTs which can be purchased during the Public Sale on our official site. Players will be able to earn an Astrafer Tokens emission from their Planet through in-game activities — the more activities completed, the more Tokens earned, raising the rate of emission up to a set maximum.
This addresses a problem seen time and time again in conventional crypto offerings — despite best intentions and Know Your Client processes, bots purchase the vast majority of tokens almost immediately. The subsequent scarcity causes a spike in price, and the artificially inflated tokens are then dumped into the community. Our approach to currency, as emissions from our special Planet NFTs with gameplay multipliers, is designed to prevent this, to ensure fairness and enable players to engage with the blockchain to its fullest extent.
In order to participate in either of the Presales, players will need to hold a Presale Ticket NFT. Users who possess The Hopeful NFT at the time of a Snapshot will receive a Presale A Ticket NFT, and of the users who possess the Episode Medal 2 NFT at the time of a Snapshot, 7,500 will receive Presale B tickets. All Snapshot dates will be announced in advance of the Snapshot taking place. The Hopeful was awarded to some of the earliest community members, while the Episode Medal 2 can be earned through completing two Episodes of in-game content. This approach will work almost like a CAPTCHA, ensuring that only genuine players have access to the Presales.
Gameplay First
The Planets, Astrafer Tokens emission and gameplay multiplier have been carefully designed. A few examples of how the maximum emission can be achieved include: level of engagement (visitors to the Planet), development of the Planet (by constructing buildings), and the Planet holder’s engagement with the wider game (through completing missions). For those actually playing the game, these will not be difficult or inconvenient diversions, but natural parts of the core game experience — ‘play-and-earn,’ not ‘play-to-earn.’ This approach is central to our core values.
Conventional IDO tokens attract investors who are looking to do just that — invest. Phantom Galaxies is first and foremost a game, and so Planet Sales were designed not to serve speculators and industry insiders, but players — who are rewarded again by the robust Phantom Galaxies experience.

Additionally, the utility of the Planets themselves as a part of gameplay should not be overlooked. An immense amount of the value of the Planets is completely independent of the emissions, and stems from the extensive in-game utility they will have. Development opportunities will include hangars to house Starfighters, marketplaces to purchase items, residential units to house members of an organisation, and mineral refineries for use in crafting.
