Phantom Galaxies Beta — ‘Cohort 2: Rulers of Worlds’ Now Live!

The next phase of the Phantom Galaxies Beta is upon us! The second cohort of players, holders of ‘Planet Genesis Mintpass’ and ‘The Hopeful’ NFTs, can now join the ‘Friends of Zorran’ and launch into the Beta!

As with our first batch of testers, members of Cohort 2 will be able to replay the Ensign’s earliest Alpha adventures, enhanced with new and updated features. Cohort 1 introduced enhancements such as completely revised Starfighter classes with powerful new Ultimate abilities, networked multiplayer aboard Halberd-001, and generative player Avatars. You can read more about Cohort 1’s additions in our previous article.

Building upon these enhancements, Cohort 2 brings bug fixes and quality of life improvements, and introduces a host of exciting additions.

The multiplayer experience is extending into the stars, with our first PvE multiplayer. Launch into our Typhon and Medusa multiplayer maps, to battle pirate hordes alongside your fellow Ranger pilots!

Access the new Bounty Terminal near the Starfighter Console on Halberd-001 — complete a range of brand-new Bounties throughout the star systems (including our new Typhon and Medusa multiplayer modes), raking in credits! With ambient enemies re-enabled, there will be no shortage of marauding corsairs to hunt.

The participation and feedback we gather from our elite Ranger echelons during this stage will be invaluable, as we craft the future of the game. Thank you for coming along on the journey, and welcome to the next phase of Phantom Galaxies!

HOW TO ACCESS THE COHORT 2 BETA:

1️⃣ Ensure you own a wallet containing a ‘Planet Genesis Mintpass’, ‘The Hopeful’ or ‘Zorran’s Favour’ NFT. Like all NFTs they can be traded and purchased through marketplaces such as OpenSea.

2️⃣ Go to the download page of our official website and connect with your wallet.

3️⃣ Scroll down the page and select ‘Beta’.

4️⃣ Generate and copy your Beta access code, and download the Phantom Galaxies Launcher (Windows) from the download page. MacOS is currently not available for this release but will be coming later.

5️⃣ Run the installer (depending on your Windows settings, you may have to ‘Run as administrator’). If prompted with a ‘Windows protected your PC’ prompt, please select ‘More info’ -> ‘Run anyway’. If prompted with a ‘Windows Firewall’ prompt, please select ‘Allow access’.

6️⃣ The installer will download the game. If prompted with a ‘Windows change notice’ prompt, please select ‘Allow’. Once installed, select ‘Play Phantom Galaxies’.

7️⃣ On load, you will be prompted to enter your unique access code. Please paste your access code into the prompt and hit enter.

8️⃣ Experience the world of Phantom Galaxies!

TO ACCESS THE EXCLUSIVE BETA CHANNELS IN DISCORD:

1️⃣ Navigate to the #collabland-join channel.

2️⃣ Click the ‘Let’s Go!’ button.

3️⃣ Follow the prompts to connect your wallet.

4️⃣ If you have a ‘Planet Genesis Mintpass’, ‘The Hopeful’ or ‘Zorran’s Favour’ NFT in your connected wallet, you should see the following channels appear:

🔹 #beta-chat — a separate general chat channel for Beta players, where known issues and workarounds can also be discussed.

🔹 #beta-feedback — a series of forms to pass your experience on directly to the team.

🔹 #PG Beta Voice Chat — a voice chat channel for Beta Players.

COHORT 2 TIPS:

🌌 Get with some friends (or make some new ones) and join PvE battles in the new Typhon and Medusa multiplayer maps.

🌌 At the new Bounty Terminal, accept and complete Bounties for rich rewards.

🌌 Check out the upgraded Assault Mecha body. Colours not included.

COHORT 2 KNOWN ISSUES:

❗ When entering an area, you will notice a lot of red appearing across your screen. Don’t panic, these are just indicators of enemies present in the level — they won’t actively engage you unless you get too close. However, this will make it harder to track your locked target.

❗If you launch into the game and enter Halberd-001, you may see ‘Quest Failed — Quest [ID]’ — again, no need to panic. This is just a Bounty which expired while the game was closed.

❗Duplicate missions may appear in your Quest Log. This shouldn’t affect any progression and is just a visual bug.

❗You may also notice that you don’t take any damage from normal laser fire. We are working on balancing this, to make a fun yet challenging experience. In the meantime, enjoy being bulletproof — but beware, explosions still hurt, as does overheating.

❗Your weapon reticle may sometimes disappear. There’s an easy fix — just change to your mining laser (and back) or transform.
