EVO DINING (WORCESTER): The “Steak Bomb” from EVO in Worcester is made with shaved steak, onion, mushroom, pepper and American cheese with Thai chili teriyaki sauce on stone baked Ciabatta roll.

CARL’S STEAK SUBS (WALTHAM): You can’t beat a steak and cheese from “The Cheesesteak Guys” at Carl’s Steak Subs in Waltham or their sister sub shops T.C. Lando’s in Acton, Clinton, Hudson, and Leominster. Each Steak and cheese weighs in at over a pound.

BOB’S (MEDFORD): One of the best sandwich shops and Italian food stores in Greater Boston, Bob’s in Medford serves one heck of a steak and cheese. It’s huge, they have a great ratio of steak to cheese, and the Italian seeded rolls are perfect.

CIRO’S TAVERN (WOONSOCKET, RI): This is the “Signature Steak Sandwich” from Ciro’s Tavern in Woonsocket, RI. Far from your typical shaved steak sub, this bad boy features a a thick cut of sirloin smothered with American cheese, mushrooms and onions.

VIRGILIO’S BAKERY (GLOUCESTER): Virgilio’s is the home of the St. Josephs roll, a fresh-baked, seeded, round bun perfect to hold their Italian spin on the steak and cheese. The Steak Mudiga Bomb is made with breaded steak cutlets, salami, peppers, onions, and melted provolone.

COPPER HOUSE TAVERN (WALTHAM): There are plenty of restaurants that offer Steak & Cheese Egg Rolls these days, but Copper House Tavern might do it the best. They’re incredibly crunchy on the outisde, while the insides are full of juicy shaved steak, melted cheese, peppers, onions (served with garlic aioli on the side).

TIDES RESTAURANT (NAHANT): The Tides’ signature dish is slow-roasted prime rib. But it’s even better when it’s shaved thin, and smothered with cheese, peppers, onions, and mushrooms and loaded into a crusty French roll.

DRIFTWOOD (PLYMOUTH, MA): The Driftwood is famous for their one pound “Philly Stuffed Pretzel”. Every toasty, fresh-baked pretzel is made to order, with homemade dough that’s filled with plenty of good old American cheese, tender beer braised steak and hard cider caramelized onions.
