The real deal on the size of India’s hiring market [INFOGRAPHIC]
Post by Jayadev Mahalingam, Founder of PiQube
For a while now, I have been racking my brains on how one sizes the hiring industry. I wasn’t comfortable with any of the gazillion surveys floating around because most of them were skewing results to suit their purpose or always included a sample size which was never representative of the actual, on-ground picture. My discussions with a lot of noted folk on the same resulted in a lot of qualitative input, but nothing quantifiable that really nails it down.
So, I’ve decided to use my own UNcommon sense to find out how large a problem, we at PiQube, are addressing. We also created a cool infographic to better explain the logic !
The largest player in the Indian recruitment space, Naukri.com, has an annual revenue of approximately 500 Cr and this is barely 5% of the market size. So the market leader has only 5% of the hiring market in India. At PiQube, at present we are attacking the USD 300 million external staffing market to start with. 2016 is when we will be throwing our hat into the ring — so heavyweights Naukri, Monster, Linkedin, Randstad, TeamLease — better watch out!
