Hey there. I don’t know you but this post concerns me. Perhaps you want to consider leaving the Bay area. You may find greater success and happiness in Austin, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Atlanta, Chicago or any number of other burgeoning startup hubs that would likely benefit from someone who possesses your skills and insight. Even an international place might suit you like Hong Kong or Tokyo or Seoul. I think your articles are excellent and I would not measure them by whether or not the market recognizes that. It’s a weird economy for many and probably makes little sense on an individual level. I say all this as I watch these things and my hope is that you’ll believe and trust me. Plus, yes, immigrant families and communities, though familial, can also be detrimental to one’s well-being. They are basically wrong on matters of this nature (how to measure success, etc) and right on many other things, of course (like how to get a good bargain and who to call to fix your computer ;)) and stuff like that.
