Google offers a $300 credit to get started with GCP for free. It’s time to experiment.

What’s needed to sign up for the trial:

  1. A Google account
  2. A credit card. An understandable security measure. The engagement not to autocharge during or after the trial is much appreciated.

Once set up,

Everything can be administered via the GCP console
The homepage offers a configurable dashboard
Administration is project based
The billing account lists a $300 credit (€283 in Europe) valid for the next 12 months
All GCP products can be tested (sorted under “Compute”, “Storage”, “Big Data”, “Tools” & “StackDriver” sections)

Conclusion

  • The whole process only takes a couple of minutes.
  • The free trial offer is both convenient and comfortable to experiment with different products over a period of 12 months.
  • All GCP products can be tested and many tools are available.
