Yesterday I talked about how to hit skill shots more effectively. Today, we’ll talk about how to dodge them. There are a few ways to dodge skill shot, and again we will be using Blitzcrank Q as an example. If you did not read yesterday’s guide, I suggest reading that one before this. Hitting skill shots and dodging them is incredibly important and it will allow you to stay in Lane for longer.

Dodging enemy skill shots is a masterpiece can often be hard to learn and do. The majority of skill shots do not go through minions, so you must think that the minion wave is your main defense stop any skill shots from hitting you. Make sure to always stand behind minions whenever possible and do not let enemies poke you down. When playing versus an enemy who has multiple skill shots, you must directly try to dodge them. As we are using Blitzcrank’s Q as an example, in lane you want to stand behind minions whenever possible. A good blitzcrank will attempt to hook you as soon as you miss position or as soon as a minion dies. This means that you must be proactive in your positioning and not stand still, especially when minions are about to die. Blitzcrank’s Q has a rather large hitbox as well, so keep that in mind.

Best way of dodging abilities is to always have a layer in between you and the enemy skill shot and in this case minions are the layer.

Another way is to have fancy footwork. Whenever you are playing League of Legends, it is best never to stand still and instead be constantly moving. This means that enemies will not be able to actively hit skill shots on you because they have to play against a Moving Target. This makes it harder for them to hit, and easier for you to dodge. In short never stay still and always move.

The last tip, and frankly the hardest is knowing the cool down and that range of the enemy abilities. If you can stay out of the range or know when they are on cooldown, then this will help you in dodging their abilities because you know if they have them or not. This also allows you can position more offensive when their main damage source is out.

Do not be discouraged if you keep getting hit by enemy abilities, in some occasions, skill shots will be near impossible to dodge. I suggest always trying to be pro-active, do not put yourself in a position where you can be hit by the enemy skill shots.

Hi there, I hope you enjoyed this guide. If you did, maybe you’d like to show your support by checking out my Twitch channel. I stream very frequently and if you have any questions about this guide or improving at League of Legends, please come by some time and ask me a question or two. Thank you for your support, and I hope to see you soon :) PS, I’m Diamond 1 if that helps.
