I’m excited to announce a huge update that’s been in the works for some time now— Pingly 2.0

Pingly’s goal is to be your communication hub, a unified inbox for all your important communications. Whether it’s text messaging with friends, voice calls with family or emailing business contacts — Pingly merges it all into a single, unified platform.
Introducing Voice calling with Smart Numbers
Voice calling has been a highly requested feature by users. We’ve revamped our entire sms messaging and voice system into what we’re calling — Smart Numbers.
A Smart Number works like a normal mobile number, letting you chat with text messages, pictures and voice calls, but also includes:
- Visual voicemail
- Automatic voicemail transcription
- Spam call flagging
- Programmable and routable (in beta)
Pingly checks inbound calls in real-time to let you know if the call is from a SPAM phone number.
The new visual voicemail system greatly improves conversation threads. Whether it’s a text message, phone call or voicemail — Everything from that person will be show in the same conversation thread, so you don’t have to jump from app to app.
Improved Conversation UI
Today’s messaging habits trend more towards short-form style and we’ve updated the conversation threads to reflect that. The messaging interface has been completely re-built to be easier to read and more streamlined. We jokingly (but for real 😉) refer to the new layout as the “double-bubble” layout. Message content always in the main, bottom bubble and any meta data associated with it displayed in the top bubble.

New iOS app available
A brand new version of our iOS app is now available. This release integrates voice calling with our new Smart Numbers along with a much improved UI. Download the app on the App Store and check out the release post.
