Police to use VR as a tool for education
I remember learning road safety at school.Dodgy videos, the Green Cross Code, well meaning but dull men from the Institute of Advanced Motorists explaining how we should drive. All very good, but slightly subjective, and, to the teenage me, difficult to embody.
Leicestershire Police seem to have pioneered a way to bridge that gap using VR to simulate car crashes, for young would-be drivers to experience. This use of the technology not only livens up the learning, but helps persons to embody the message more.
Using mobile VR allows the force to get out to more people, and to spread the message wider. Hopefully, we will see this used more and more in the future.
