Would you want to be my Chief of Staff?

With two decades as a venture investor under my belt, backing some of the biggest startup successes coming out of Europe such as Spotify, iZettle, and Avito, it´s time for me really scale up. I have been fully focused on helping the founders of our portfolio companies to grow, develop and be able to deal with bigger and bigger challenges — and now it’s about time for me to do the same. Therefore I am looking for a Chief of Staff to work closely with me with everything I do.

The position is incredibly varied and involves responsibilities such as:

  • Managing my calendar, travel, and reporting
  • Helping me prioritise between a huge number of opportunities and competing requests
  • Attending internal and external meetings in Europe and the USA, with entrepreneurs, company boards and investors
  • Preparing materials for team meetings, writing analyses and doing research
  • Managing my networking opportunities with entrepreneurs, business leaders and investors
  • Helping me to review new investment opportunities

I can assure that every day holds a fortune in learning opportunities. As an example, we need to meet more than 300 companies that all want to change the world in order to make just three investments. Out of these three, only one ultimately will become really successful some 5–7 years down the line. As you probably have figured out, dealing with and learning from failure is also a big part of the job.

You should have at least 3 years of professional experience from a high performance environment close to the European or US start-up scene. You probably work in either a startup, management consultancy, tech investment bank, media/PR agency or similar. Or, like our entrepreneurs who take the road less travelled, if your experience is different, please don’t let that stop you applying. The key for this role is that you have a real passion for the startup ecosystem and supporting high-performance teams.

You are very organized with a strong analytical mind and solid communication skills, native-level English language speaker/writer with a strong commitment to getting things done. You are comfortable with rapidly changing priorities, self-management, fast pace and thereby plenty of headroom to grow personally and professionally. We offer you to work in an exciting industry at one of Europe´s premier venture capital firms, Northzone, with a track record second to none and with the opportunity to be close to the growth of new powerhouse companies and the reshaping of industries. We are 20 professionals in four offices, Stockholm, London, New York and Oslo, managing some 60 portfolio companies and SEK 10 billion in investable capital.

The position is to be based in Stockholm, with extensive travelling required in Europe and United States to team meetings, portfolio company board meetings, investor meetings and networking events and conferences.

Please send your letter with the header “Chief of Staff “ describing why you are the right person, including a detailed CV to recruiting@northzone.com
