Do you know Mother Nature makes her own glass? From volcanos she extrudes from her molten inner heat a melted and viscous material which when cooled and hardened is known as OBSIDIAN.

Anyone who has cut themselves on glass knows how sharp it can be. And because of its sharpness (and its relative ease in sourcing it) that obsidian has been used since the Stone Age as blades for cutting. Even with centuries of metallurgic knowledge, an obsidian blade can be still be hewn 500 times sharper than steel. In fact as seen under a microscope, an obsidian scalpel will cut cells neatly in half where the finest steel scalpels will look as if they had cut through cells with a chainsaw.

While on the physical level obsidian displays extraordinary cutting ability on soft tissues, on a metaphysical parallel OBSIDIAN is also an extraordinary tool to use for cutting out and away unuseful energies. These energies can be in the form of negative thought forms created by self or others, negative cord attachments between souls, or even negative entities in one’s aura. For all these situations and more, cutting away would be the most useful way to separate the parasitic link causing diminishment in one’s personal life force. In this way, OBSIDIAN is a powerful stone and is recommended to be used only with caution and clear intention.

There are great many varieties of OBSIDIAN. Most varieties of obsidian are black, though it can come in many other colors.

As time goes on I will be adding more examples of obsidian as I come across significant types I feel would be especially helpful to you.
