This is only the tip of the ice berg as there are numerous independent sports facilities across the city that offer badminton alone or in conjunction with other sports. There are a total of about 100 forums online in the form of Facebook Groups, MeetUp groups, InterNations forums, WhatsApp groups and other online portals dedicated to serving badminton enthusiasts which illustrates the popularity of the sport in the city.

Sriyani Deepika, a former Sri Lankan badminton champion runs an academy at the facility; classes are available for different ages and skill levels, while women’s badminton mornings also take place here, mirroring the increase in female participation in badminton throughout Dubai.

2. Professional Sports Academy (PSA)
Professional Sports Academy(PSA) assists all age group players to learn and play badminton sports for regular fitness and health. With PSA professional guidance players can improve their play at their pace. PSA offers courts and coaching academies in 3 locations across Dubai.
i. PSA Dubai Silicon Oasis:
The main aim of Professional Sports Academy is to promote the sport of Badminton and encourage people to take up the sport. This calls for people of all ages to try their hand at badminton. People who want to improve their game can also get trained here. The venue is very close to RTA Bus stop and has synthetic badminton courts.

ii. PSA Al Nahda 2:
Located in Dubai Carmel School this venue aims at promoting badminton, so that people take up to the sport and stay fit & healthy. They also offer coaching for the kids and the adults. They have indoor synthetic badminton courts.

iii. PSA Al Barsha:
With a main aim of pulling people into the sports culture, the professional sports academy houses Badminton courts which can be used by all badminton enthusiasts. They can also opt for badminton coaching at the academy.

3. India Club
The India Club offers a variety of options for its members to indulge in indoor and outdoor sports activities, with the highest-quality, fully-equipped sport facilities available. Excellent coaching facilities are available through well trained and knowledgeable sports staff. The club also conducts major and minor sports tournaments throughout the year.
Four indoor badminton courts are located on the ground floor of the Ashoka Complex. The courts are open to all members. Shibil runs a coaching academy at the premises on all days of the week-morning and evening.

Coach Deepika is an internationally accredited official in badminton with over 15 years of coaching experience and is known as the “Queen of Badminton” in Sri Lanka.
