Mobility City and Plug and Play to Host Innovation Day

ZARAGOZA, SPAIN, April 15, 2019 — Plug and Play plans to host their first Innovation Day with Fundación Ibercaja to launch their new Mobility City initiative in Zaragoza, Spain on May 28th. Mobility City is an international initiative promoted by Fundación Ibercaja with the support of Zaragoza Expo Empresarial, which aims to create a space in the Community of Aragon to promote mobility innovation.

“Bringing the Plug and Play platform to Spain is going to be an important point. What we want is that all the mobility innovations that are being made in the world can be brought here, to Zaragoza,” said José Luis Rodrigo, General Manager at Fundación Ibercaja.

The event will feature presentations from 15 internationals startups from the Energy, IoT, Mobility, and Supply Chain spaces. Following the pitches will be a round table with key players who plan on tackling major challenges and discuss upcoming opportunities in these industries.

“Celebrating an Innovation Day in Zaragoza will allow us to build a fantastic innovation hub for mobility and will help create a bridge that brings together the disruption from Silicon Valley startups with the environment in Zaragoza. The goal is to make of this region an international reference in the mobility space,” said Saeed Amidi, Founder and CEO of Plug and Play.

Fundación Ibercaja has also partnered with Plug and Play Smart Cities in Paris. This platform brings together players from the Real Estate, Mobility, and Sustainability industries to accelerate innovation in cities. Their 3-month program is built for startups to boost their growth, connect with the right decision makers, and learn from Plug and Play’s global mentor network.

The final goal of Fundación Ibercaja is to make the Aragon region a hub for mobility innovation. Through co-sponsored events such as the upcoming Innovation Day, Plug and Play will be able to bring international entrepreneurs in front of Fundación Ibercaja and its partners to help build the city of the future.
