Dear Plutoneers and fans of crypto,

It has been an incredibly busy year for Plutus, with continuing business developments and strategic partnerships growing steadily. As the year ends, there has also been a slight change to Plutus’ NFC launch.

Like any technology with the potential to change the fundamental ways we use money, Blockchain companies are always handled with extra care within the traditional payments industry. And while we have now established a relationship with a strategic partner who will provide the VDC for Plutus Tap and Pay, due to red tape and regulations we have been notified that there will be an extended timeline for NFC capability. This means that even though we are ready for a public beta test, the Plutus app itself will receive contactless payment capabilities starting mid-2017.

As both we and our strategic partners are concerned with bringing Plutus to market, we have been working closely to extend our available line of products with an NFC tags (sticker) as well as physical debit cards which will become available much earlier in the year.

As a result of further developments and our extended timeline, we will be able to use this time to add native iOS support in addition to the sticker and physical card mentioned above. The iOS version of the app will not have the built in tap and pay feature (NFC blocked by Apple), however we created a work around by using Plutus’ NFC stickers. The Plutus app itself will enable you to manage and use these products from any smart phone.

While this roadmap is not what we had initially in mind, this timeline gives us more opportunities to further expand the number of people we can reach and the usage of the app itself.

Summary of New Features:

  • NFC Stickers (Released before the app itself)
  • Debit Card (Released before the app itself)
  • Native iOS support

This means that we will initially be launching NFC tags (stickers) as well as physical debit cards in early 2017 to give users access to spend Plutons as soon as possible from our side. The trading feature on the PlutusDEX will be live before the release of the first product, this means liquidity for conversions will be available from day one of launch. This has been a community request for a long time, and waiting for NFC access gives us an opportunity to integrate this from the beginning.

PlutusDEX Beta is Now Open to Registrations

Registrations for the DEX Beta is now open, and you will be able to create an account as well as complete KYC early. This is an opportunity to test our platform and give your feedback before the trading feature is unlocked.

We are integrating automatic KYC as well as other features to streamline this process. Currently you will be able to create a trading account, as well as complete your account verification. This will ensure that you will be among the first to trade when order matching goes online.
