I loved every word of this, Jim. Your point about grandparents stepping in is so good. And those that can’t financially support a single parent can do so much good by stepping in as a caretaker when needed. The book talks about how family members — aunts, uncles, grandparents — are the best kind of caretakers for babies when their mother (or father) can’t be present, because they will be in involved in the child’s life long-term. People who have this kind of family support system should thank their lucky stars. Go Grandpa!
