First off, are women really attempting to show their value in the workplace by refusing to work? This seems like a risky strategy. No worker is truly indispensable, and going on strike could invite employers to consider just how replaceable you are.

This was one of my critiques about Wednesday. If you take the day off work and aren’t really missed … well, that just tempts an employer to notice how replaceable you are. On a larger scale, public opinion seems to be that #ADayWithoutAWoman was not really that big a deal — an inconvenience, but certainly not a national crisis. Kind of the opposite of the message they were trying to send.
