Excellent analysis. I just wanted to add that the feedback that sounds the craziest can sometimes be the most valuable, because it gives us a glimpse into a perspective we never would have come to on our own.
True, some people are just nitpicky, and there’s no point in getting bogged down by their feedback. But I still remember a quote I came across when I was doing instructional design, and I think it fits:
“If one person tells you you have a green tail, you think they’re crazy.
If two people tell you you have a green tail, you think it’s a conspiracy.
If three people tell you you have a green tail, you turn around and look.”
…the point being that even seemingly crazy feedback might have some validity if you hear it repeatedly.
