Well…I *think* I agree with you if I understand what you’re saying, although I’m not sure I agree with your analysis of my post. I was never trying to assert that someone who thinks they’ve been oppressed was imagining it or overreacting. I was saying that my belief that the sun *shouldn’t* be harmful doesn’t mean I can go outside without sunscreen and not get burned. For your example to hold up, I’d have to have said that, because I don’t think the sun should be harmful, women who claim to have been burned are making it up. And that’s not what I said at all.

If you want to try to find a more relevant example, I’ll keep going.
