The clouds are strange today
As though their particular darkness doesn’t belong
Their winds blow sour, and cool
Even in absence I can sense…

Begin by considering which space needs this small parcel
This bundle of words wrapped in crude brown paper
And tied with a fibrous, rough twine.
Unpredictable as they are
I was used to making every moment matter
you don’t make excuses when your muse visits
When our obsessions starve
they grow sour by the hour
