Hi! Twitter is free — you will pay only with the giant time suck that it can become :-) Just go to Twitter.com and make an account; it will make suggestions on who or what to follow. You can find content and folx who may interest you by doing a hashtag search: say, #RedSox and the platform will show you tweets that have that hashtags. You can look at the tweets and tweeter and see what interests you, and follow or not. Over time, you’ll start to see folx that your want to follow. It’s pretty intuitive. If you don’t want others to be able to follow you without your permission? Then make your account private when you set it up. If someone tweets garbage at you — and it will happen — you can either mute or block them by tapping on their Avi. That will bring up a short menu: block, mute, report. You can delete your account at any time, but you have to do that outside the app. I follow lots of news accounts, fellow @crossinggenres writers, lots of @medium writers, the NYGiants, the Sox, etc. And yes, I have made friends and even met and fell I love with someone I met on Twitter.
