Dev Update — Leaving BSC

Polar Sync

Our engineering team has faced numerous and constant issues with archive nodes on Binance Smart network for the past three months. Our development time has been cut in half (or even more) trying to solve problems for their own network issues. This is a not a Polar Sync related issue, in fact we have attempted to source data from all major BSC archive node providers, all of them are out of sync at various times.

You can read through some of the comments many others are facing in this Github thread, https://github.com/binance-chain/bsc/issues/545

At this point we have explored almost every option possible to resolve these data sync issues. The only thing really left to try is rewriting a completely custom geth client. That is something that maybe BSC team will do themselves in the future?

We have made the decision to completely drop support for BSC at this time. Our primary goal was always to improve the backend software to index and serve data for decentralized blockchain apps, not fix Binance Smart Chain.

We will continue to diligently work on the underlying software of Polar Sync on Ethereum network for now. We have found Ethereum is much more stable and reliable for us to make substantially more progress without network roadblocks holding us back the entire time.

For the time being our $POLAR token will continue to trade on Binance Smart Chain via Pancakeswap or Apeswap. We are considering migration options to ETH and will keep the community updated!
