Congress gets Chaotic over Khadoor Sahib by poll
Long reign of Congress regime has come to an end, probably because the people have awakened. This defeat has shaken the congress party in and out. The chaos in the party becomes more evident as Khadoor Sahib by poll approaches.

The Khadoor by election has become a battleground for all the parties to defend their prestige. Whereas for some parties it is just another election, at the same time, Congress seems to be looking at this election as a test of inclination of the people and leadership of Capt. Amrinder Singh. Despite the decision of Congress president, Sonia Gandhi approving the name of Sikki, Capt. Amrinder Singh announced the boycott of the Khadoor Sahib elections. It is being said that the decision is influenced by Prashant Kishore . The whole episode has presented a disturbed image of congress. The boycott has received a mixed response from the party co-workers who believe that this decision might affect the upcoming state election of 2017. Moreover the turmoil over Khadoor Sahib by poll has come as a clear indication of poor leadership of Rahul Gandhi, which has been questioned time and again.
Khadoor Sahib election awaits with not much time left , it is an important constituency for Congress , especially because it was one of the only three seats that Congress won in the 2012 assembly polls, hence they are not leaving any stone unturned to safeguard their image. Congress cannot afford to face defeat in the upcoming by poll, as the 2017 state elections wait ahead. Driven by this fear or to play safe, as some believe, Congress has decided to boycott the Khadoor Sahib elections. As decided earlier and approved by Congress high command Sonia Gandhi , Ramanjit Sikki’s name was finalized as the face of the Congress Party but with him stepping down from the position to protest against the sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib in Bargari village , Congress is finding it hard to find a credible and a strong face to represent the party in the elections. Hence, to save the name and the face of the party, Capt Amrinder Singh announced the boycott of the elections. People close to Capt. Amrinder Singh say that the boycott of the election is a strategic move taken by Congress to gear up for the 2017 elections.

The party people have bifurcated views regarding this decision, on one side some believe that the party should focus on the state elections rather than competing for year tenure, on the other hand, some believe that this decision is influenced by Prakash Kishore which reflects a distorted image of the party where everyone is taking their own decision individually. The choice of the Congress and AAP to stay out of the coming by poll is being seen as a strategic move for the 2017 elections at the same time SAD and few political gurus believe that both the parties have chickened out especially Congress who wants to play safe and don’t want to face another defeat. The hustle-bustle happening in the Congress Party is drawing attention of many and at the same time it questions the leadership and vision of the party and whether it will ever be able to regain the same form.
The heat continues to grow in Punjab as the state prepares itself for the state elections 2017. For some the by poll is the litmus test to understand the inclination of people while parties like Congress has used strategic planning for the 2017 election as scapegoat to escape their fate which is believed to be loss in the election.
