Just pay me Rs 10 Lakh and come on the dais: says Captain
Moving beyond initiatives like “Chai pe Charcha” and “Koffee with Kejriwal”, Congress Chief and CM candidate Captain Amarinder Singh has launched “Coffee with Captain” programme, where he would be sharing coffee with those who enroll for the event.
Congress’ poll strategist for Punjab, Prashant Kishor is the mastermind behind the campaign, which unfortunately proved as a ‘flop show’ for Captain and his Congress brigade.
Captain to woo young voters
The much talked campaign “Coffee with Captain” was commenced to woo the next generation voters of state ahead of assembly polls in Punjab by none other than Prashant Kishor, keeping in mind youngsters as the broader parameters to press the most appropriate ballot button.
Like AAP, Congress is also leaving no stone unturned ahead of 2017 assembly polls in Punjab. Both the parties eye on the voters from elite class. While Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) initiated the ‘Aam Aadmi’ lunch and dinner events across Punjab, Congress launched ‘Coffee with Captain’ event. While AAP charged lunch as well as dinner for Rs 20,000, however, the price charged for sharing the dais with Captain Amarinder is Rs 10 lakh.”
Much-hyped show turned out to be a flop show
“Coffee with Captain” was heavily promoted by social media handles of Indian National Congress. Everything was going good in the beginning of the event but the scene at the podium turned chaotic as the youngsters began overlapping each other while asking questions and began arguing among each other.
While Captain expected the session to be centred on the issue of employment, investment, Punjab’s governance and the vision with he aims to return to power; one of the attendees in the crowd attacked on his “attendance” in Lok Sabha. He even said that if his college attendance would have been as worse as Amarinder’s Lok Sabha attendance, he would have been barred from giving the examination. In midst of chaos, the event had to be stopped midway with captain leaving the stage.
